While the Loire valley is known primarily for its world-class wines, the region’s produce is also worthy of the world-class moniker–peaches especially. A stroll down to the farmer’s market alluded to above will inevitably reveal an abundance ofboth white and yellow peaches, freshly picked and bursting with juice. Some say it is the fresh air that produces such amazingfruit, others swear it is the terroir, or local soil, responsible for fruit packed with so much flavor. Either way, if you are lucky enough to spend a morning such as the one we’ve described, the peaches of the Loire Valley are not to be missed.
